Without doubt the best and hardest-swinging modern straightahead jazz ensemble of the African-American tradition in the UK. Nu Troop features a superlative line-up of some of the finest jazz musicians in the country - all band leaders and composers in their own right. You may have seen them together in some of the other Dune line-ups, but it is as Nu Troop that they become a very special ‘superband’ that, by virtue of the artists’ individual touring schedules, is only available for a limited number of shows throughout the year.

Nu Troop are currently working on a new set of original material created by each member of the band, (yet to be titled).

Gary Crosby’s Nu Troop pay tribute to the masters of jazz through their highly acclaimed and immensely popular series of album and artist tributes.
The music, spirit and legacy of jazz giants like John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith, Betty Carter and more lives on through this outstanding jazz ensemble. But it’s not only past giants that Nu Troop celebrate. They also pay tribute to living legends such as Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Sonny Rollins, Abbey Lincoln.... Without doubt, this band ranks among the greatest straightahead jazz groups in Europe.
